    Where can I take Household Hazardous Waste (HHW)?

     

    Several options are available for disposing of Household Hazardous Waste, including using our Recycling Facility Locator Map to find a location near you or visiting your city or county web site for proper disposal guidance and information.  

    The Fort Worth Environmental Collection Center (ECC) is open to Fort Worth residents and participating cities. Call or perform a web search for the most up to date information regarding participating cities, hours and accepted items before visiting.  The center is located at 6400 Bridge Street, Fort Worth, TX 76112. Hours are Thursdays and Fridays 11:00 am-7:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 am-3:00 pm. Bring driver’s license and water bill or other utility bill as proof of residence in a participating city.

    To find out whether or not your HHW items are accepted, please call 817-392-3279 before loading your items for transport and deposit. If your city is not listed as one of the participating cities, the ECC will not be able to accept your household chemical waste. Call your city representatives to let them know you would like your city involved in the program.

    The Dallas County Home Chemical Collection Center (DCHCCC) is open to Dallas residents and participating cities. Call or perform a web search for the most up to date information regarding participating cities, hours, and accepted items before visiting. The center is located at 11234 Plano Road, Dallas, TX 75243. Hours are Tuesdays 9:00 am-7:30 pm, Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:30 am-5:00 pm, and the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. The center is closed on Mondays, Fridays, and Sundays. Bring driver’s license and water bill or other utility bill as proof of residence in a participating city.

    To find out whether or not your HHW items are accepted, please call 214-553-1765 before loading your items for transport and deposit. If your city is not listed as one of the participating cities, you will be charged a minimum $95 waste management fee.

    Appliances and "White Goods"

     

    Appliances or “White Goods” (e.g., washers, dryers, refrigerators, microwaves) containing Freon or refrigerant cannot be recycled with the substance intact. Check with the recycler to see if Freon/refrigerant removal services are offered on site. If not, this must be removed by an approved service technician prior to recycling and green tagged proving such service has been performed.
